Professional Summary: The Clinical Intake & Correspondence Specialist I plays a vital role in supporting clinical services by managing incoming documentation and requests related to Utilization Management (UM), Care Management (CM), and Disease Management (DM) programs. While not responsible for making clinical decisions, this position partners closely with licensed healthcare professionals to ensure appropriate actions are taken. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, empathetic, and highly organized, with a strong understanding of medical terminology and healthcare operations. This is a remote role available to candidates located in Oregon, Washington, Idaho, or Utah. Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive, review, and take initial action on clinical documentation and requests related to UM, CM, and DM programs.
  • Collaborate with licensed healthcare professionals to determine appropriate next steps for incoming cases and correspondence.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism while handling sensitive patient information.
  • Utilize electronic medical records (EMR), billing systems, and claims platforms to research and document case details.
  • Perform accurate and timely data entry to support clinical workflows and ensure compliance with internal standards.
  • Investigate and resolve issues related to clinical documentation and program operations, escalating as needed.
  • Draft and manage professional correspondence related to clinical intake, ensuring clarity and accuracy.
  • Support process improvements and contribute to a high-efficiency production environment.
  • Promote a positive customer experience by demonstrating empathy, patience, and responsiveness in all interactions.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in customer service or clinical services, preferably within a healthcare or insurance setting.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and coding (CPT, DX, HCPCs).
  • Experience with healthcare systems such as EMR, billing, and claims platforms.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and internet-based research.
  • Excellent organizational, administrative, and data entry skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote production environment.
  • Strong written communication skills, including experience with professional correspondence.
  • Demonstrated commitment to confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
  • Previous experience in a provider’s office (e.g., scheduling, front office) is a plus.
  • Must reside in Oregon, Washington, Idaho, or Utah.

Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $27.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
