Our content spans across various platforms, including Instagram, TikTok, Meta, and YouTube Shorts, and we're looking for someone who can help us take our social media presence to the next level.
The Role
As our Junior Social Media Content Creator, you'll be responsible for creating engaging, original content that highlights the best of Detroit. You'll work closely with our team to pitch ideas, film, and edit social-first content that showcases the city's vibrant culture, stunning architecture, and energetic atmosphere. Your role will involve:
- Producing and editing short-form video content for social media platforms, including Reels, TikToks, and Shorts
- Shooting content around Detroit, including events, venues, and neighborhoods
- Collaborating with our team to develop creative ideas and weekly content planning
- Editing using professional tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro
- Meeting in-person 1-2 times a week for planning and shoots
- Staying up-to-date with social media trends, hooks, timing, and engagement strategies
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and implement a content strategy that aligns with RAW Detroit's brand and values
- Create engaging, original content for social media platforms, including video, photos, and captions
- Collaborate with our team to develop creative ideas and weekly content planning
- Edit and produce high-quality video content using professional tools
- Shoot content around Detroit, including events, venues, and neighborhoods
- Meet in-person 1-2 times a week for planning and shoots
- Stay up-to-date with social media trends, hooks, timing, and engagement strategies
Essential Qualifications
* 1-2 years of experience in social media content creation, preferably for brands, businesses, or creators
- Proficiency in editing using Adobe Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro
- Strong understanding of social media trends, hooks, timing, and engagement strategies
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
Preferred Qualifications
* Photography or basic graphic design experience
- A strong personal TikTok or Instagram with creative examples
- Reside within Detroit, MI

Compensation, Perks, and Benefits
* Competitive hourly rate of $15.00 per hour
- Flexible schedule with 25 hours per week
- Paid per project, with workload flexible based on content needs
