About the Role

The Examination group at DoorDash is seeking experienced Senior Data Scientists to lead measurement, strategy, and decision-making across the organization. As a Senior Data Scientist, Analytics, you'll work closely with cross-functional teams to identify business problems, develop data-driven solutions, and communicate insights to stakeholders. You'll have the opportunity to work on a wide range of exciting challenges, from customer acquisition and fraud prevention to marketing and supply and demand optimization.

Key Responsibilities

• Utilize quantitative analysis and data visualization to drive business decisions and uncover insights that inform strategy
• Design and implement full-cycle analytics experiments, reports, and dashboards using SQL, R, Python, or other scripting and statistical tools
• Mentor junior analysts on advanced techniques and problem-solving approaches, promoting a culture of data-driven decision-making
• Develop recommendations and apply statistical techniques and hypothesis testing to validate findings, driving business outcomes
• Provide insights to business and product leaders on market dynamics, customer behaviors, and long-term trends, shaping the company's strategic direction
• Identify and quantify levers to drive key metrics and make recommendations, optimizing business performance
• Work backwards from understanding and measuring problems to ideating solutions, driving innovation and growth
• Report against company goals by identifying key metrics and building executive-facing dashboards to track progress
• Collaborate with engineering teams to implement, log, validate, and monitor logging, ensuring data quality and integrity

Essential Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Math, Physics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field
• 4+ years of experience in data analysis, consulting, or a related role, with a proven track record of driving business outcomes
• Experience working with pipeline optimization, customer segmentation, cohort analysis, time series analysis, regression models, and other advanced statistical techniques
• Proficiency in SQL queries, ETL, A/B Testing, and statistical analysis (e.g., hypothesis testing, experimentation, regressions) with statistical packages like Matlab, R, SAS, or Python
• Experience with one or more analytics and visualization tools (e.g., Chartio, Looker, Tableau), with the ability to communicate complex data insights effectively
• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to tackle ambiguous problems in a structured, hypothesis-driven, data-supported way

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree in a quantitative field, with a specialization in data science or a related area
• Experience working in the tech industry, with a focus on e-commerce, logistics, or a related field
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
