Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Part-Time Lead Bookkeeper and Client Manager to join our remote accounting team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients, providing top-notch customer service, and handling all core bookkeeping functions, including data entry, expense coding, accounts payable and receivable management, inventory management, reconciliations, analysis, financial app integrations, and more. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of clients, serving as their main point of contact and providing exceptional customer service
  • Perform all core bookkeeping functions, including data entry, expense coding, accounts payable and receivable management, inventory management, reconciliations, analysis, and financial app integrations
  • Build and maintain financial work processes, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with accounting standards
  • Develop and implement financial management solutions tailored to each client's unique needs and goals
  • Collaborate with other teams and clients to troubleshoot issues, resolve problems, and provide expert guidance and support
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments, best practices, and new technologies, applying this knowledge to continuously improve our services and processes

Essential Qualifications

  • 3+ years of accounting experience (bookkeeping or tax)
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with BILL, DEXT, and Sales Tax software (e.g., Avalara, TaxJar) is a significant plus
  • Solid grasp of technology and ability to learn new programs easily
  • Confident and strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, troubleshoot issues, and make sound decisions
  • Must be located in the United States, with a preference for candidates in Illinois, Tennessee, or Florida

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience as a solo-bookkeeper or tax professional with a small book of business
  • Knowledge of accounting principles, laws, and regulations
  • Familiarity with cloud-based accounting systems and financial management tools
  • Certifications such as CPA, CMA, or EA are highly valued
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality results, meeting deadlines, and exceeding client expectations
