About the Role

Our team transcribes a wide range of materials, including but not limited to:

• Focus groups, financial forecasts, and quarterly reports
• Tech webinars, commencement addresses, and interviews about NGO work, educational reform, and healthcare access
• TV shows and other multimedia content

Note that we do not do medical transcription, so if you are looking for a role that involves transcribing medical records or similar materials, this may not be the best fit for you.

Who We're Looking For

We are seeking skilled and motivated transcriptionists who are passionate about delivering high-quality work and are comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. To be successful in this role, you will need to be:

• A fast and accurate typist, with a minimum of 80 words per minute (wpm) and 98% accuracy
• Able to deliver files within 24 hours or less for an hour-long file
• Someone with a wide range of interests or educational experiences, as this will help you to understand the context and flow of conversation in the materials you are transcribing
• Fluently bilingual or multilingual, although this is not a requirement, it is highly desirable

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you will need to meet the following requirements:

• Strong language, style, and punctuation skills, and the ability to follow our in-house style manual and project-specific instructions
• The capability and willingness to verify names and terms via brief internet research
• A reliable internet connection, as you will be receiving project files via Dropbox links and returning transcripts as .doc files
• A dedicated email address that you use exclusively for work, to ensure confidentiality and security

We also highly recommend the use of transcription software controlled via hotkeys or a foot pedal, and good-quality headphones to cut down on ambient noise while you are transcribing.
