Our Promotions Information Designing team is at the forefront of building a data ecosystem that resolves Blithequark's understanding and dynamic assessment of how ads impact our business. We're now looking for a talented and mature Data Engineer to join our team and contribute to the rapid growth of our advertising business.

About the Role

As a Data Engineer at Blithequark, you will be part of a larger data engineering organization within our Content and Studio Information Engineering flat. Your primary focus will be on constructing rich, connected, and easily accessible data about ad inventories, forecasting, targeting, and more. The data you work with will be utilized across various business areas and functions, from educational analysis to feature development for statistical models.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, strengthen, and extend the core data models that our Advertising capabilities use to address business questions.
• Collaborate with partners to identify needs, model tables using software engineering and data warehouse best practices, and develop data pipelines to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality data.
• Work with Analysis Architects, Data Scientists, and Programmers to create datasets that will serve analysis and reporting needs instinctively.
• Develop best practices for the management of datasets with sensitive data.
• Build strong and cooperative relationships with data scientists, analysis specialists, and AI experts.

Who We're Looking For

You're a seasoned professional with a passion for data engineering, advertising, and innovation. You have a broad foundation and solid technical ability working with advertising data and understand how to work for scale, security, and business impact. You're a sharp communicator who can distill and explain complex data issues in clear and concise language.

Essential Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience building production data pipelines, preferably using at least one distributed processing system like Spark or Hive/Hadoop.
• Proficient in data modeling and establishing data engineering across different systems.
• Excellent judgment and decision-making skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with large data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, Pig, Hive, and Voila.
• Proficiency in obtaining and modeling data from application APIs.
• Familiarity with group-based software development tools and best practices.
• Knowledge of spaces related to advertising, data protection, and GDPR.
