Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and passionate basketball assistant coach to join our team. As a basketball assistant coach, you will be responsible for supporting the head coach in developing and implementing game plans, leading practices, and mentoring student-athletes. You will also be responsible for promoting a positive and inclusive team culture, while ensuring the safety and well-being of all students.

Key Responsibilities

* Assist the head coach in developing and implementing game plans, leading practices, and mentoring student-athletes

• Promote a positive and inclusive team culture, while ensuring the safety and well-being of all students
• Develop and implement strategies to improve team performance and player development
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to ensure a positive and supportive team environment
• Collaborate with the head coach and other staff members to develop and implement team-building activities and community service projects
• Maintain accurate records and reports, as required by the district and CHSAA
• Participate in coaching clinics, workshops, and other professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices and industry trends

Essential Qualifications

* Current certificate in AED/CPR (Head Coaches) or First Aid/CPR (Assistant Coaches)

• CDE licensed teacher or valid Coaches registration with CHSAA
• Current concussion certification from the NFHS or Children's Hospital Colorado
• Ability to pass the CHSAA annual Coaches Exam
• Previous coaching experience and/or participation at the high school or college level
• Strong knowledge and skills in the specific sport
• Ability to plan, organize, and successfully direct specific sport
• Ability to perform and teach advanced techniques in specific sport
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with diverse groups of people

Preferred Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., exercise science, sports management, education)

• Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds and abilities
• Familiarity with CHSAA rules and regulations
• Experience with team-building activities and community service projects
• Strong leadership and problem-solving skills
