About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Intervention Tutor to join our team, providing high-quality instruction and support to students in reading, writing, and mathematics. As an Intervention Tutor, you will play a critical role in helping students overcome academic challenges and achieve their goals. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one and small group instruction to students in reading, writing, and mathematics, using evidence-based strategies and techniques to address identified areas of weakness.
  • Develop and implement individualized learning plans to meet the unique needs of each student, incorporating data-driven instruction and assessment to inform instruction.
  • Collaborate with certified teachers and other support staff to ensure seamless communication and coordination of services, promoting a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
  • Maintain accurate records and data on student progress, using technology and other tools to track student growth and inform instruction.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices in reading, writing, and mathematics remediation, and to enhance your skills and knowledge as an Intervention Tutor.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or a related field, with a minimum of 2 years of experience in reading and mathematics remediation.
  • Proper Connecticut teaching certification (Elementary Education) or equivalent.
  • Experience working with students of diverse backgrounds and abilities, with a strong commitment to equity and inclusion.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, teachers, and parents.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Elementary Education or a related field, with a specialization in reading and mathematics remediation.
  • Experience working with students who have identified learning disabilities or other special needs.
  • Knowledge of research-based instructional strategies and techniques, including differentiated instruction and technology integration.
  • Experience with data-driven instruction and assessment, including the use of technology to track student progress.
