The Role

As an Experienced Manager State & Higher Education, you will be responsible for investing in the future of blithequark's people as they execute strategic direction of the State, Local, and Higher Education (SLED) managed travel accounts. You will join a talented team of Field Government Account Managers and designated portfolio management, and will work closely with them to coach and professionally develop their skills. Your primary focus will be on increasing sales, establishing formal partnerships, and broadening awareness of blithequark's corporate travel programs and services to State, Local, and Higher Education managed travel accounts.

Key Responsibilities

* Coach and professionally develop Field Government Account Managers and designated portfolio management to achieve sales and revenue growth targets

  • Identify and develop strategic partnerships with State, Local, and Higher Education managed travel accounts to increase sales and revenue
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, procurement officers, and travel managers
  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies to increase revenue and market share
  • Analyze sales data and market trends to identify opportunities for growth and improvement
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement marketing campaigns and promotions
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities, including identifying potential customers and developing sales strategies to pursue them
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the managed travel industry, including trends, challenges, and opportunities
  • Stay up-to-date on industry developments and best practices, and apply this knowledge to improve sales and revenue growth

Essential Qualifications

* 5+ years of experience in sales, account management, or a related field

  • Proven track record of success in sales and revenue growth, with a strong understanding of the managed travel industry
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with key stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze sales data and market trends
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on collaboration and teamwork
  • Strong leadership and coaching skills, with the ability to develop and motivate a team of sales professionals
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience working in the managed travel industry, with a strong understanding of the key players, trends, and challenges

  • Proven experience in developing and implementing sales strategies, with a strong focus on revenue growth and market share
  • Strong knowledge of sales and marketing principles, including segmentation, targeting, and positioning
  • Experience working with government officials, procurement officers, and travel managers
  • Strong understanding of the Southwest Business Vision and the role of the Manager State & Higher Education in achieving it
