Job Summary

We are seeking an accomplished Data Engineering Manager to lead our data engineering team in the development and maintenance of large-scale data applications and pipelines. As a key member of our data engineering group, you will be responsible for driving the design, quality, and integrity of our data pipelines, which process and analyze petabytes of telemetry data from various sources. Your expertise will play a critical role in shaping the future of our data engineering capabilities and contributing to the development of innovative products that delight our customers.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead the design, development, and maintenance of large-scale data applications and pipelines, ensuring high-quality, scalable, and reliable solutions

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive the development of data-driven products and services, leveraging expertise in data engineering, software development, and analytics
  • Develop and implement data engineering strategies, architectures, and best practices to ensure data quality, integrity, and security
  • Mentor and guide a team of experienced data engineers, providing technical guidance, coaching, and leadership to drive excellence and innovation
  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand business requirements, identify opportunities for improvement, and develop solutions that meet business needs
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging trends, technologies, and industry developments, applying knowledge to drive innovation and improvement in data engineering practices

Essential Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field; Master's degree in Computer Science or related field preferred

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in data engineering, with a strong background in designing, developing, and maintaining large-scale data applications and pipelines
  • Proven track record of leading high-performing teams, with experience in mentoring, coaching, and developing technical talent
  • Strong expertise in data engineering tools, technologies, and platforms, including HDFS, Yarn, Flash, Impala, Kafka, HBase, MapReduce, Kubernetes, Item Store, and Flink
  • Experience with at least two of the following programming languages and development tools: Python, Ruby, Java, Scala, Swift, Objective C
  • Strong understanding of data engineering principles, practices, and best practices, with experience in data quality, integrity, and security

Preferred Qualifications

* Master's degree in Computer Science or related field

  • Experience with cloud-based data engineering platforms and services, such as AWS or GCP
  • Strong understanding of big data processing frameworks, such as Hadoop, Spark, or Flink
  • Experience with data warehousing and business intelligence tools, such as Tableau or Power BI
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with experience in working with cross-functional teams and stakeholders

  • Proven leadership and management skills, with experience in mentoring, coaching, and developing technical talent

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in identifying opportunities for improvement and developing solutions that meet business needs
