Primary Responsibilities

As a Remote Customer Service Representative, you will be responsible for:

  • Handling high-volume inbound calls from policyholders, providers, and interested third parties in a professional and courteous manner
  • Providing accurate and timely information about policy coverage, claim status, and other policy-related inquiries
  • Resolving customer issues and concerns through effective communication and problem-solving skills
  • Maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction and adhering to defined operational standards
  • Reviewing and maintaining new and revised procedures regarding policy information
  • Ensuring customer needs are met on every interaction, including phone, email, and written correspondence
  • Meeting department standards for call volume, average handle time, and time management

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • 1+ years of work experience in a high-volume contact center environment, preferably in the insurance industry
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with diverse groups of people
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Reliable internet connection with a minimum upload and download speed of 20 Mbps (hard-wired connection)
  • A smartphone for accessing VPN
  • Basic computer knowledge and skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent typing skills (minimum 30 wpm)
  • Ability to multi-task and work under pressure
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Quiet and professional workspace
  • Availability to work a 40-hour workweek, Monday-Friday, with flexibility to work overtime as needed

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, we welcome candidates with:

  • Insurance industry experience
  • Previous experience as a receptionist or in a role that involves taking calls on a daily basis
  • Strong knowledge of insurance policies and procedures
  • Experience working in a remote or virtual environment

Training and Onboarding

As a new member of our team, you'll undergo a comprehensive training program that will equip you with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in this role. Our training program includes:

  • 2-3 weeks of in-depth training, Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm CST
  • Ongoing coaching and support to ensure your success
  • Opportunities for professional growth and development

Equipment and Technology

As a Remote Customer Service Representative, you'll have access to:

  • A smartphone for accessing VPN
  • A dedicated computer and headset for taking calls
  • Microsoft Office and other necessary software tools
  • A quiet and professional workspace

Location and Schedule

As a remote employee, you'll have the flexibility to work from anywhere in the United States (excluding Houston, TX, Miami, FL, New York, California, Hawaii, Washington, Washington D.C., New Jersey, Vermont, New Mexico, North Dakota, South Dakota, Maine, and Wyoming). You'll be required to work a 40-hour workweek, Monday-Friday, with flexibility to work overtime as needed.
