Health Care Compliance Analyst

UNIVERSAL Technologies is seeking a Health Care Compliance Analyst for a remote role with travel. The right candidate will support the evaluation and performance review of the 1915(c) Children’s Waiver across New York State. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical, regulatory, and compliance review experience within healthcare or human services settings. This role requires excellent communication, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders. Some travel across New York State, including New York City, may be required.

MANDATORY SKILLS/EXPERIENCE Note: Candidates who do not meet the mandatory requirements will not be considered.

  • Bachelor’s degree in public health, healthcare management, psychology, human services, or related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Healthcare Compliance Analyst, Auditor, Care Manager, Medicaid Provider, or similar role responsible for oversight, compliance audits, chart reviews, or ensuring quality of care.
  • Experience with Medicaid fee-for-service and/or Managed Care billing.
  • Extensive knowledge or experience with Home and Community-Based Services Waiver programs, including the 1915(c) NYS Children’s Waiver (provider or compliance officer experience preferred).
  • Experience working with eMedNY, CANS-NY, UAS-NY, Medicaid Health Homes, Medicaid Managed Care Organizations (MMCOs), or related systems/programs.
  • Experience with NYS Medicaid billing, including use of Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
  • Experience working with OMH, OPWDD, or OCFS.
  • Experience conducting compliance audits or chart reviews.
  • Ability to work with and relate to staff at all levels; strong active listening skills.
  • Process-oriented, results-driven work style.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong customer service skills with excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • High accuracy, exceptional attention to detail, and consistent adherence to deadlines and performance standards.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, Outlook, Visio, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience may be considered.

SCOPE OF SERVICES

  • Evaluate child/youth cases for compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Communicate evaluation requirements clearly and follow up as needed.
  • Assess documentation against State and Federal regulations.
  • Collect data and documentation to support compliance findings.
  • Use technology to convert hard copy documents to digital format and submit via secure transfer.
  • Record, summarize, and communicate compliance findings for the Children’s Transformation Program.
  • Assist in identifying trends in non-compliance and make timely recommendations to project management.
  • Assist with operationalizing project processes and procedures.
  • Support all internal and external reporting activities.
  • Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships to ensure high-quality customer service.
  • Travel to provider sites across New York State to perform case reviews.
