The Opportunity As a dedicated Accounts Payable and Receivables Assistant III (Entry Level) -Sensitive Position, You will be expected to work well within a team setting to fulfill high-volume payment processing and exceptions to support P&C and Life Operations. Provides support through one or more of the following functions: reconciliation of accounts, payment processing via ACH/Wire/Check/Credit Card/IFT, processing of invoices / processing general ledger transactions, research and resolution of issues and items of exception. This job profile is designated as a Sensitive Position. Critical Positions are those positions in which individuals have the authority and ability to conduct in-scope activities (movement of USAA or Member funds) as defined within the Enterprise Critical Positions Required Time-Away Compliance Policy. Employees in Sensitive Positions are required to fulfill a Mandatory Time-Away (MTA) requirement of 10 consecutive business days each calendar year. Due to the nature of the critical work required for this role, the ideal candidate will be in office 5 days a week. This position will be based in the following location: San Antonio, TX. Relocation assistance is not available for this position. What youll do:

  • Under direct supervision, assists with processing of financial transactions such as reconciliation of accounts, processing of invoices / payments, processing general ledger transactions, etc. in a timely manner to meet service level agreements.
  • Identifies issues for escalation and seeks guidance from other team members regarding problem resolution.
  • Acquires and applies foundational knowledge of policies, processes, industry practices, systems and/or equipment to open and/or process payments.
  • As an end-user, supports internal financial and payment systems, tools, and technologies to ensure they are in working order. Bring ups and reports issues or system defects as appropriate.
  • Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures. What you have:
  • High School Diploma OR General Equivalency Diploma required.
  • Up to 1 year of experience in bookkeeping, accounts receivable /payable, general ledger, and reconciliations.
  • Understanding of basic financial and accounting principles in a related industry.
  • Basic knowledge of regulatory standards.
  • Foundational knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Basic knowledge of the monetary flow of transactions within relevant product or industry business systems.
  • Ten-key by touch (posting payments and manually entering numbers). What sets you apart:
  • Financial institution background with solid understanding of payment processing.
  • Knowledge in P&C and Life products and money movement processes.
  • Working in a fast paced and high-volume money movement environment.
  • US military experience through military service or a military spouse/domestic partner. Compensation range: The salary range for this position is: $43,680.00- $63,680.00. USAA does not provide visa sponsorship for this role. Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location.
