As a Customer Service Associate, you will be the face of blithequark, providing top-notch customer service and support to our customers. Your role will involve:

  • Welcoming customers to our store and helping them find the right products and services for their home improvement needs
  • Interacting with customers throughout the day, answering questions, and providing expert advice on our products and services
  • Assisting customers with locating and handling merchandise, including loading merchandise as needed
  • Processing orders and deliveries accurately to ensure customers receive their merchandise as expected and on time
  • Cross-functionally training in other areas of the store to help deliver the best customer service
  • Preparing merchandise in your department based on customer needs, such as tinting and mixing paint, cutting and threading pipe, cutting and bundling wood, cutting drywall, and cutting blinds
  • Guiding customers through shopping or checkout
  • Completing other duties as assigned

Your Day at blithequark

As a Customer Service Associate, you will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where no two days are the same. Your daily responsibilities may vary by department, but you can expect to spend most of your time listening to customers, answering questions, and organizing merchandise. You will also have the opportunity to cross-functionally train in other areas of the store to help deliver the best customer service.

Key Responsibilities

* Welcome customers to blithequark, answer questions, and deliver friendly and professional customer service

  • Assist customers with locating and handling merchandise
  • Down stock merchandise by looking for empty areas on shelves and replenishing supplies
  • Process orders and deliveries accurately to ensure customers receive their merchandise as expected and on time
  • Cross-functionally train in other areas of the store to help deliver the best customer service
  • Prepare merchandise in your department based on customer needs
  • Guide customers through shopping or checkout
  • Complete other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

* 6 months of experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information

  • 6 months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets
  • Reading, writing, and performing basic arithmetic (addition and subtraction)
  • Ability to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary to perform job duties
  • Minimally lift 25lbs unassisted or over 25lbs with or without an accommodation

Preferred Qualifications

* 6 months of retail and/or customer service experience

  • Bi-lingual skills
  • Certification in a trade related to your department (e.g., hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, and lumber/building materials)

Travel Requirements

This role does not require regular travel; however, you may need to travel occasionally to meetings, training, or to support neighboring stores.

Working Conditions

Environmental factors vary by location. You may be working in both inside and outside weather conditions. Exposure to varying climates, including extreme heat or cold, wet, damp, humid, windy, or drafty conditions, is possible. You may be exposed to constant or intermittent noises in addition to moving or shaking objects and equipment.

Lifting Methods

Lifting methods vary based on role, weight, and volume. Associates must follow guidelines, limiting single lifts to 75 pounds. Team lifts are used minimally starting at 75 pounds or when needed. Powered equipment should be used as required, with proper training or assistance from a trained coworker.

Pay Range

$16.50 - $18.50 per hour Starting rate of pay may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, position offered, location, education, training, and/or experience.
