Job Summary
We're seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join our OAP department, working remotely as part of a collaborative team. As a Data Engineer, you'll be responsible for curating Single Source of Truth information tables, generating and distributing automatic reporting, and transitioning to modern data and reporting tools. You'll also serve as a center of excellence for green data processing and control, leveraging emerging technologies to drive business value.
Key Responsibilities
* Locate and extract data from various sources to support analysis, modeling, and project development
- Clean and curate datasets by identifying new data sources, collaborating with stakeholders, and aggregating perspectives into meaningful hierarchies
- Develop and maintain data environments, collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance automatic reviews and analyses
- Leverage emerging technologies to discover innovative approaches to communicate data and insights that meet business needs
- Support strategy development and project control engagements for business units and cross-functional initiatives
- Train and mentor team members on various skills and topics
- Practice security-aware behaviors in all operational processes and procedures
- Demonstrate a team-first mindset, prioritizing the success of our team and business partners
- Be intellectually curious, ask questions, and communicate ideas effectively
What You Need to Succeed (Minimum Qualifications)
* 3+ years of experience in a related field, such as data engineering, analytics, or a quantitative field
- Proficiency in SQL and ETL/ELT patterns
- Proficiency with Python, SAS, or other comparable tools and programming languages
- Ability to troubleshoot a reporting database environment
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work autonomously, managing multiple requests with varying timelines
- Self-starter with a resilient, solution-minded approach to complex problems, working individually or in a team
- Consistently prioritizes security and protection of self, others, and personal data
- Embraces diverse perspectives, thinking, and styles
- Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States
What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
* Bachelor's degree or certificate in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Science, or a related quantitative field
- Previous airline experience
- Working knowledge of and/or experience with cloud-based solutions (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP)
