Job Summary

We're seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Designer to lead the design, development, and implementation of production systems and automated processes for contact, sensing, and display modules in high-volume manufacturing environments. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for driving the mechanical design of independent functional systems, working with cross-functional teams for hardware development and integration, and planning systems for automation and high-volume production.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop, design, and implement production systems and automated processes for contact, sensing, and display modules in high-volume manufacturing environments. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product design, optics, electrical, and software engineering, to bring elite products and revolutionary innovations to market. - Plan and design systems for automation and high-volume production, ensuring efficient and effective manufacturing processes. - Foster framework requirements, perform detailed analysis, and testing to ensure the highest quality standards. - Apply design skills in the areas of optics, precision component design, and motion control, as well as logical methods and testing to troubleshoot issues and implement robust solutions. - Report best practices, SOPs, and maintain a library of approved designs.

Essential Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Designing or related field. - Master's degree in Mechanical Designing or related field preferred. - 5+ years of experience in mechanical design, with a focus on high-volume manufacturing environments. - Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, including apparatus, installation, mechatronics, hardware packaging, and optics. - Proficiency in 3D CAD software, including NX, SolidWorks, MasterCAM, and/or other relevant tools. - Experience with drafting and GD&T practices. - Familiarity with analysis techniques, including FEA, Resilience stackup, Error budget, and RCA. - Knowledge of assembly techniques, including precision machining, heat treatments, and other relevant processes. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in hardware development, preferably in high-volume manufacturing environments. - Experience in opto-mechanical design, including camera/optical mounts, kinematic mounts, and coherent system design. - Experience in designing independent equipment for consumer electronics products/modules. - Experience in designing mechanical systems for PCB, FPC, connectors, and other components. - Experience in designing high-precision components and motion control systems. - Experience in designing for low-molecule conditions/cleanrooms. - Familiarity with machine/PC vision systems. - Familiarity with optical system design, integration, and stability testing. - Familiarity with advanced mechanics, automation, and wafer/DUT handling systems. - Programming knowledge.
