DevOps Engineer III

As a DevOps Engineer III, you should be strong in both the Dev and Ops aspects of DevOps. We are looking for someone with a deep understanding of systems architecture, strong fundamentals in core computer science concepts, and the ability to reason about system behavior beyond just working with tools. Such expertise will help set a clear technical direction and inspire the team. This role offers significant impact, shaping culture, collaborating with energetic peers, and working on high-visibility initiatives with international exposure.

This member will contribute as an individual contributor in the platform team, enhancing the productivity of engineers and building scalable, secure systems. They will mentor junior engineers, drive cross-team projects, and deliver solutions that improve reliability and performance.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop solutions for deploying secure, highly available, performant, and scalable services in elastically provisioned environments.
  • Design and maintain persistent storage solutions across infrastructure.
  • Own operational aspects of persistent storage, including automation, monitoring, alerting, reliability, and performance.
  • Provide innovative solutions to operational challenges impacting business continuity.
  • Lead communication and resolution for production-impacting incidents.
  • Drive technical projects, ensuring timely and quality project-level deliveries.
  • Collaborate effectively with engineering and business teams across regions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor\'s or advanced degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • 6+ years of professional DevOps experience, with at least 1-2 years in Linux/Unix.
  • Strong foundation in operating systems, networks, and systems architecture, including web services.
  • Proficient in scripting (Python, Bash).
  • Hands-on experience administering and deploying AWS-based services.
  • Expertise in PostgreSQL, Redis, Elasticache (OpenSearch), Neptune: performance tuning, optimization, indexing, replication, failover, and backup/restore.
  • Familiarity with AWS services such as RDS, CloudWatch, IAM, VPC, and Lambda.
  • Experience with high availability and disaster recovery solutions (Aurora, OpenSearch, Neptune, Redis).
  • Knowledge of database migration tools (AWS DMS, pg_dump, logical replication).
  • Strong experience with Terraform, Packer, Docker (or equivalents).
  • Knowledge of security protocols and certificate infrastructure.
  • Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Broad exposure to cloud-hosted applications, virtualization, relational & non-relational data stores, reverse proxies, orchestration platforms.
  • Curiosity, a continuous learning mindset, and the ability to raise technical standards.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Nice to have

  • Past experience as a senior developer or application architect.
  • Experience designing systems compliant with security frameworks (PCI DSS, ISO 27000 HIPAA, SOC, 2 etc. ).
