[Remote] Platform Engineering Intern
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Vivint Smart Home, an NRG owned company, is a leading smart home company in the United States, dedicated to redefining the home experience with intelligent products and services. In this role, you’ll be building the back-end APIs and services that power our app experiences for Vivint’s millions of customers, directly impacting how they secure and control their homes.
Responsibilities
- Implement APIs used by the Vivint’s mobile apps
- Write handlers to communicate with Vivint cameras
- Work with experienced software developers to implement new features
Skills
- Experience with Go and Python or similar languages
- Currently in your sophomore semester of college/university
- Experience developing REST and/or gRPC APIs
- Familiarity with Kubernetes and/or Docker
- Understanding of MQTT for communicating with IoT devices
- Understanding of non-relational (NoSQL) databases like MongoDB
