Specialty Bolt & Screw (SBS) is a growth-oriented distributor of engineered fasteners and hardware, seeking a Technical Engineering Specialist to collaborate with OEM customers. The role involves partnering with various departments to deliver technical solutions and support new part introductions, focusing on cost, quality, and manufacturability.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with OEM engineering, quality, and purchasing teams on new part introductions, print reviews, and ongoing technical collaboration focused on cost, quality, manufacturability, and application requirements
  • Help build a menu of technical and commercial options—manufacturing methods, materials, finishes, and sourcing strategies—so customers can make informed decisions aligned with their objectives
  • Lead structured problem-solving efforts (8D, CPAR, DMAIC), manage customer complaints, and review PPAP documentation in support of technical collaboration

Skills

  • Experience: Recent graduate to ~10 years
  • Strong technical aptitude and ability to review prints and standards required
  • Personable, collaborative, solution-oriented, entrepreneurial
  • Engineering degree preferred but not required
  • Experience working with data, reports, and modern business systems (including database and AI) is a plus
