Water/Wastewater Engineering Designer
BETA Group, Inc. is a leading consulting engineering firm in New England, seeking an entry level Wastewater Engineering Designer. The role involves collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team to provide innovative planning and design solutions for water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to project tasks and activities by applying theoretical knowledge to real world applications
- Acquire new skills, build confidence, and learn about the engineering profession
- Collaborate & communicate with others on project development
- Advance work in an integrated manner
- Initiate coordination & discussion of project issues
- Attend and present at client and public meetings
- Deliver work products on time and within budget
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering
- Solid understanding of engineering theory and concepts and their application
- Proficient in the use of current technology (i.e., tablets, smart phones, laptops, etc.)
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong technical aptitude and an eagerness to learn
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
- Must be able to collect field data and measurements including but not limited to roadway, sidewalk, and utility assets; and perform asset inspections
- Must be able to lift/move objects weighing up to 40 pounds
- Must be able to perform field work in both hot and cold weather (rain and/or snow)
- Must be able to stand or sit for long periods of time
- Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- 0 to 3 years of experience
- EIT (Fundamentals of Engineering)
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil3D and ArcGIS/Pro experience a plus
