Key Responsibilities

As a Network Protection Examiner Understudy, your key responsibilities will include:

• Working with business clients to conduct needs analysis related to systems and business processes to develop quality technical solutions
• Ensuring solutions are aligned with internal tooling, business processes, and compliance with departmental standards
• Managing project timelines for planning, coding, testing, and implementation to ensure solutions are delivered on time and within budget
• Serving as a resource to ensure effective communication between business and IT groups
• Participating in system and acceptance testing
• Scope of work may vary depending on the team project

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

• A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Fundamental knowledge of data security and risk management principles, theories, and strategies
• Experience or exposure to Proofpoint PhishAlarm
• Experience or knowledge of ServiceNow Administration, Risk and Compliance (GRC)
• Essential knowledge of business analysis, process modeling, and improvement
• Major understanding of project management systems, including the ability to design, manage, and maintain a complex, organization-wide program
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with all levels within the organization, including both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Fundamental knowledge of technical environment
• Openness to Agile philosophies
• Coursework or experience related to Network Security
• Ability to remain organized and manage multiple and simultaneous tasks under tight deadlines
• Past investigator entry-level position experience within the past year
• Experience resolving business issues in a capstone or case competition
• Ability to thrive in a culture that is open, direct, conscious, gracious, and empathetic
• Fast learner, self-motivated, team-oriented, with a sense of humor

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, experience in the following areas is highly desirable:

• Experience working in a cybersecurity or IT-related field
• Knowledge of threat intelligence, incident response, and security operations
• Experience with security information and event management (SIEM) systems
• Familiarity with cloud security platforms and services
• Experience with security orchestration, automation, and response (SOAR) tools
• Knowledge of compliance frameworks and regulations, such as HIPAA, PCI-DSS, and GDPR
