Regional Inventory Planner - NAM

Work Arrangement: Remote if you are not located in Utah Job Overview The Regional Inventory Planner is responsible for designing, executing, and sustaining inventory and replenishment strategies that optimize working capital while supporting customer delivery expectations across the Drilling Products network. This role bridges Commercial, Demand/Supply Planning, and Supply Chain Operations to drive data-informed decisions on stock levels, network responsiveness, and inventory health. The role also supports the GTM in developing accurate demand plans and takes ownership of inventory-related actions within the fixed planning window to ensure agility and responsiveness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain regionally aligned inventory strategies that support product segmentation, service level goals, and financial targets.
  • Collaborate with GTM Leaders and Regional Sales to support demand planning, ensuring customer-driven stocking strategies, particularly for consignment locations, are justified by reliable forecasts and aligned to business priorities.

  • Provide input and data to support Value Stream Managers in their ownership of Make-to-Stock (MTS) vs. Make-to-Order (MTO) decisions, working in coordination with Value Stream Leaders and GTM Leaders to align inventory with commercial and operational strategy.
  • Align with Planning, Manufacturing, Fulfillment, and Logistics to synchronize replenishment and inventory strategies to optimize customer responsiveness.
  • Take the lead in resolving exceptions and change requests within the frozen planning window, including expediting critical orders, adjusting inventory levels, and addressing root causes with cross-functional teams.
  • Conduct Inventory Health Reviews and establish S&OE (Sales & Operations Execution) cadences to drive timely action and accountability.
  • Own dashboards and reporting tools that provide real-time visibility on inventory KPIs across regions and product lines.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives related to inventory turnover, excess & obsolete, and working capital optimization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or related field;
  • APICS CPIM (Certified in Planning & Inventory Management) preferred; CSCP also acceptable
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in inventory management, supply/demand planning, or related roles in industrial or mining sectors
  • Strong understanding of inventory modeling, replenishment planning, and product segmentation
  • Experience partnering with Commercial, Product Management, and Manufacturing teams to influence and execute inventory strategies
  • ERP/MRP system proficiency (Oracle, SAP, etc.); Power BI or Tableau a plus
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to resolve complex supply chain issues across global networks
