Pre-Sales Engineer – US

About the role Kramer America is looking for a passionate and skilled Pre-Sales Engineer to join our US technical team. This position provides strategic pre-sales technical leadership and solution design support for the full Kramer product portfolio across the United States. The role works closely with regional sales managers, business development, channel partners, consultants, and end users to architect, position, and present comprehensive technical solutions that drive business growth. As a member of the US Pre-Sales Technical Team, this individual will support opportunities across all territories, delivering scalable designs, high-level system architecture guidance, and technical expertise throughout the entire sales lifecycle. The ideal candidate will possess strong planning, critical thinking, and presentation skills, along with deep technical knowledge and the ability to translate complex AV solutions into clear business value. This is a remote position, with national travel expected up to 50% annually. What will your job look like?

  • Manage and drive the technical evaluation stage of the sales process, including presentations, demonstrations, communication, and design, while working closely with the sales team as a key technical advisor
  • Act as lead sales engineer during the pre-sales process through solution implementation
  • Support the sales team in opportunity identification, solution design, and customer presentations
  • Review project designs and recommend appropriate Kramer product solutions
  • Provide on-site and remote support to capture worksite details and create detailed Scopes of Work for all projects
  • Identify technical issues for customers/accounts to ensure customer satisfaction throughout all stages of the sales process
  • Support product demand creation through the Pro AV and IT network of resellers
  • Participate in trade shows and events as needed, sharing information on Kramer products and services

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in technical or field sales engineering, focusing on managing high-level, complex client relationships from supply chain to end-user
  • Extensive technical background with a strong understanding of professional AV integration services and practices, networking, streaming, and IT value chains
  • CTS or CTS-D certification preferred
  • Strong understanding of AV Room Control Systems, including serial and IP communications
  • Ability to read and interpret project floor plans and system flow line drawings
  • Willingness to travel domestically up to 50% of the year
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-growth, entrepreneurial environment
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
