The Role at a Glance
Our Life Customer Experience IT Value Stream is growing and we are adding a fully remote Full Stack Developer to support our cutting edge/Agile Application Development team. This position focuses heavily on delivering web-based, self-service capability solutions and will perform and deliver on related routine assignments while working on expanding our new (FAST) administrative platform. In this role, you will be part of a team that will work on and support critical internal and external facing (heavily website based) solutions. In this role you will develop innovative business solutions by creating new applications, modifying existing applications and providing post production support. You will also deliver business application software solutions following the system development life cycle process.
What you'll be doing
- Constructing and implementing software within a full stack environment (Front end, API, persistence, integrations)
- Using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript and Angular 2+ to build a modern frontend
- Leveraging Java, Spring Boot in building a reliable backend
- Managing the full lifecycle of web application development; from designing, building, testing, deploying, to monitoring
- Using tools such as Gitlab, SonarQube, Splunk, Confluence, to drive operations and collaboration
- Champion lean-Agile, DevOps principles and practices (e.g. CI/CD; you build it, you own it), and independent architecture, while supporting a culture of innovation and continuous learning
- Performs technical tasks including estimating, analysis, technical requirements, design, construction and unit & integration testing following SDLC
- Maintains knowledge on current and emerging developments/trends for assigned area(s) of responsibility, assesses the impact, and collaborates with Scrum Team and Leadership to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future solutions
- Participates and enhances organizational initiatives by positively influencing and supporting change management and/or departmental/enterprise initiatives within assigned area(s) of responsibility
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
- 3+ years of experience in application development that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position
- 3+ years of experience in cutting edge AWS cloud technology and API centric environments
- Advanced experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, and Angular
- Advanced experience with Java and Spring Boot
- Experience with relational databases like Oracle and SQL/PLSQL/Procedures/Triggers
- Experience with microservice design (Service-Oriented Architecture) and RESTful web services
- Knowledge of API integration and management tools like Mule ESB, the Anypoint Platform and API gateways
- Familiarity with Continuous Integration/Delivery and DevOps
- Experience developing data movement and engineering applications and worked on integrating disparate systems using ETL following SDLC and/or Agile methodologies
- Experience writing Unix/Linux or Windows Scripts in tools such as Python, PERL, Shell script, etc.
- Must have a team based mentality! Our team members will help other team mates strengthen their full stack skill sets and work together to get the best end results to support business and technology needs
- AWS Certifications (Developer or Data Analytics), MuleSoft experience a plus
- Experience writing Unit Tests (e.g., Mockito, Junit, Karma Jasmine)
