Accountant

The Accountant position is responsible for all accounting tasks for the insurance company, including recording premiums, handling losses, and producing timely financial reports. Responsibilities

• Responsible for financial close activity, including but not limited to:Prepare various business unit financial statements and supporting exhibitPrepare balance sheet reconciliationsProcess manual entries to sub-ledger and general ledger:Calculate reinsurance transactions according to contractsPrepare Reinsurance Statements monthlyProcess all Reinsurance related cash activity and update applicable sub-ledgersAssist with financial auditsParticipate in special projects and financial analysis as assigned by management

Skills

• Highly proficient with Excel, including strong knowledge of vlookups, pivot tables, formulas, and data management
• MS Word, Outlook
• Working knowledge of Workday Financials or other cloud ERP systems
• Experience with Business Intelligence tools (i.e. Power BI)
• Exemplary oral and written communication skills, with keen ability to analyze issues
• Proactive and able to organize and prioritize to meet multiple demands and commitments
• Ability to improve and evaluate processes to identify opportunities for improvement
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
• 1+ years of financial analysis and accounting experience, excluding internship experience, preferably in insurance, financial services, or a public organization
