GEI Consultants, Inc. is a leading engineering firm specializing in geotechnical engineering and infrastructure projects. The role involves performing geotechnical engineering tasks, supporting data management, and assisting in the preparation of technical documents and site investigations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform geotechnical engineering tasks including site characterization, engineering analyses (foundation, earthwork, slope stability, seepage, seismic), and design for dams, levees, canals, flood control structures, retaining walls, and other infrastructure projects
  • Support data management and geotechnical analysis, technical report development, and assist in preparation of technical documents, presentations, and proposals to clients and regulators
  • Support the development of decision-making documents such as feasibility studies and cost estimates, design and procurement documents such as engineering drawings and specification packages, and tools for contractor bid evaluation and oversight
  • Support site investigations and site assessments including soil borings, cone penetration testing (CPT), and other testing, as well as technical oversight of subcontractors

Skills

  • B.S. in Civil Engineering; M.S. with Geotechnical emphasis is a preferred
  • EIT preferred; ability to obtain professional registration
  • 1-4 years of previous professional experience in civil/geotechnical engineering
  • Excellent technical report writing and communication skills
  • Experience with spatial analysis and visualization software such as CAD, Civil 3D, and GIS
  • Experience with geotechnical analysis software, such as GeoStudio (SEEP/W and SLOPE/W)
  • Valid U.S. driver's license
