Actuarial Assistant (Charlotte, NC (Hybrid) or Remote)

As an Actuarial Assistant, you will support the implementation of model changes for RILA & Variable Annuity products, ensuring the validity and transparency of model results for financial statements and risk management.

Responsibilities

• Implement annuity modeling solutions by utilizing product knowledge, studying existing models, and analyzing business requirements
• Analyze model results, including reconciling and attributing changes, communicating results to management, and creating detailed documentation
• Implement and test new software releases, new products, new regulatory requirements, and shared table changes in the Pathwise environment utilizing Python
• Optimize models to follow coding standards and improve performance
• Stage model inputs using data conversion systems and/or Alteryx

Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science or related discipline
• At least 1 actuarial exam for the Society of Actuaries
• Strong programming skills (python preferred)
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• The ability to work with others in a team environment
• Conceptual and analytical skills to develop solutions to complex problems
• Sound business judgment skills (decision-making and problem solving)
