VP, Digital Brokerage

Remote · USA Full-time New today
Overview:

Alera Group is looking to hire a VP, Digital Brokerage for our office, Lumity.

The VP, Digital Brokerage is the senior leader responsible for growth, market position, and sales execution for Lumity, an Alera Group company. This is a true player-coach role. The leader builds revenue, develops talent, and sets direction, while staying out of day-to-day service operations.

This role requires someone who can sell, lead, and make judgment calls in real time. The VP sets the pace for growth, represents Lumity internally and externally, and ensures strategy turns into results.

About Alera Group

Alera Group was founded in 2017 and has grown to become the 14th largest broker of U.S. business. We are passionate about our clients’ success in the areas of Employee Benefits, Property and Casualty Insurance, and Financial Services. With a network of offices nationwide, our commitment to collaboration allows us to offer national resources combined with local service.

Why Alera Group

  • Make an Impact: Your work supports businesses and individuals in protecting what matters most.

  • Grow With Us: We invest in development, mentorship, and long-term career growth.

  • The Collaborative Way: We believe in accountability, teamwork, and shared success across all offices and lines of business.

  • National Strength. Local Heart: Scale, resources, and expertise — with relationships that feel personal.

Why Lumity

Lumity is built. The platform exists. The opportunity is real. This role is about taking something with momentum and making it matter at scale.

Responsibilities:

Core Accountability

Own the Lumity P&L with primary accountability for revenue growth, margin, and expense discipline. This role sets commercial priorities and financial outcomes while service delivery and day-to-day operations remain with designated operations leaders.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Leadership and Growth

  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing sales organization.
  • Deliver sustained organic growth of at least 10% annually and EBITDA growth of 10%.
  • Personally engage in complex or high-impact sales opportunities when needed.
  • Drive pipeline development through referrals, partnerships, internal Alera relationships, and direct outreach.
  • Lead critical stages of the sales process, including discovery, positioning, and finalist presentations.
  • Maintain a clear view of pipeline health, conversion rates, and forecast accuracy.
  • Represent Lumity as a visible industry leader through select associations, boards, and events.

Strategic Leadership

  • Set and execute Lumity’s commercial and growth strategy in partnership with Alera Group leadership.
  • Translate strategy into clear priorities, targets, and expectations for the sales team.
  • Lead change initiatives with direct, disciplined communication.
  • Ensure sales practices align with regulatory, ethical, and compliance standards.

Team Leadership and Culture

  • Recruit, develop, and retain top sales talent.
  • Set clear performance expectations and hold people accountable to results.
  • Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and development.
  • Build a culture that values accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement.

Client and Market Engagement

  • Strengthen Lumity’s market position through strong client relationships and consistent execution.
  • Partner with vendors and internal teams to improve client outcomes and support growth.
  • Act as a steward of the Lumity brand internally and externally.

Success Measures

  • Organic revenue growth of 10% or greater, net of commission and fees.
  • EBITDA growth of 10% or greater.
  • Healthy, predictable sales pipeline with improving conversion rates.
  • Strong bench of sales talent with clear development and succession paths.
Qualifications:

What You Bring

  • Demonstrated success leading sales teams and driving growth in a multi-location or national organization.
  • Deep understanding of employee benefits and related commercial models.
  • Strong business judgment with the ability to balance strategy and execution.
  • Clear, confident communicator who can influence at all levels.
  • Comfortable being hands-on when it matters, without defaulting to operating the business.

Education and Credentials

A bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required. Relevant industry designations such as CEBS are encouraged. Advanced degrees are a plus, not a requirement.

Who Thrives Here

  • A builder who likes a challenge, not a blank slate. The foundation is here. The opportunity is real. But it's not easy.
  • A commercial leader who can sell, coach, and set standards.
  • Someone who can be bold without being abrasive. Confidence matters. Arrogance kills trust.
  • A leader who blends ambition with discipline. You want to grow fast, but not at the cost of quality or reputation.
  • Someone who's done hard things before. You've led teams through change, built revenue where it didn't exist, and earned trust everywhere you’ve worked.
Additional Information:

Compensation: Salary range: $200,000 – $225,000 per year

Benefits: Alera Group offers comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, life and disability coverage, 401(k), generous PTO, and more.

Work Model: This role is remote.
