The Chesterfield Education Foundation (CEF), promoting equitable educational opportunities within the Chesterfield County Public Schools (CCPS), seeks a Fiscal Technician (Grant Finance Analyst) to serve its afterschool programs. This is a part-time (10 - 20 hours per week, average of 15 hours/week), nonexempt position. This position will work remotely with occasional business meetings at the school sites, or the Chesterfield office located at 13900 Hull Street Road, Midlothian, VA 23112.
Summary:
This position is responsible for the program site budgets and database management for the Department of Education's Online Management of Education Grants Awards (OMEGA) system.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain a database of timesheets. Checks submitted timesheets for errors and send them back to the employees for correction, as necessary, with a clear explanation of what needs to be fixed.
- Maintains budgets for each afterschool program site as funds are spent and submit a monthly update to the Site Coordinator and Program Manager.
- Ensures data is submitted on time and within grant parameters.
- Completes all financial documents, forms, or reports required by the grant.
- Develops and maintains master files on grants and paperwork connected to programs funded by grants.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Thorough understanding of effective grant writing techniques.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Extremely organized and meticulous with details.
- Excellent project management skills and ability to prioritize work and resources.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to interpret financial data and prepare budgets and financial grant reports.
- Ability to be discreet with personal information that may be needed for some grants, such as employee salaries or upcoming projects.
- Associates degree or work equivalent in a related field is required.
- Three-plus years of experience working with federal grants.
- Experience managing the OMEGA system.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
