UGL’s Industrial & Resources Division is currently looking for a suitably qualified HSE Advisor to join the team on Outages on Power Stations across Queensland. As a key member of the team, this role will be responsible for providing practical HSE leadership and support to the Operations Team for all safety, health and environment activities during Outages. 

The role will require you to work remotely for extended periods of time. Our current program of work would ideally see the successful candidate complete multiple Outages commencing in May 2026 through to the end of 2027 and beyond. 

Key responsibility areas

·         Provide advice and support in the implementation and auditing of Safety, Health and Environment Management Plans

·         Ensuring compliance with the Safety and Environment Management plan, Traffic Management plan and Fatigue Management plan

·         Advise on all safety, health and environmental issues         

·         Analyse safety statistics, and report on trends and recommend actions to improve safety

·         Review all project activities, work practices and procedures for continuous improvement in safety, health and environment

·         Monitor compliance with legislation and client requirements

·         Provide support and advice to Supervisors in order to achieve health and safety objectives

·         Promote UGL values and our ‘One HSE’ culture

About You

·         Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role

·         Formal qualifications in Work Health and Safety

·         Knowledge of OH&S legislation, Workers Compensation legislation, Codes of Practice and Australian and State Standards as they apply to the construction and maintenance industry

·         Experience in maintenance or shutdown projects

·         Computer literacy and proficiency in the use of Microsoft products in particular Word, Excel and Outlook
