Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic group exercise instructor to lead dynamic and challenging group fitness classes for our members. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable, motivating, and able to create a positive and encouraging atmosphere for participants. Job Requirements Frontline employees are not required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, however, BCNY strongly encourages all employees to be vaccinated against COVID-19 and obtain a booster shot. Responsibilities

• Plan and lead engaging and challenging group fitness classes for participants of varying skill levels.

• Demonstrate proper exercise techniques and form, providing guidance and modification as needed.

• Create and maintain a safe and positive exercise environment, ensuring participants are adhering to proper safety guidelines.

• Encourage and motivate participants throughout classes, providing feedback and support to help clients meet their fitness goals.

• Stay up to date on industry trends, new workout routines, and fitness methods in order to offer cutting-edge classes.

• Attend regular training sessions and workshops to improve and diversify teaching skills.

• Maintain professional and positive communication with members and staff.

• Assist with any additional tasks related to fitness programming as needed.

Qualifications

• Nationally recognized certification in group exercise instruction (e.g. ACSM, ACE, AFAA) ? 1-2 years of experience instructing group fitness classes, with experience teaching different class formats (e.g. HIIT, Pilates, yoga, cycling, dance) ? Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate, inspire, and connect with participants. ? Knowledge of anatomy, physiology and exercise science principles, and the ability to create workouts to meet varying skill levels. ? Ability to lead high-energy classes while maintaining a safe environment. ? Must be CPR and AED certified.
