Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Gear Engineer to join our team in Costa Rica. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for supporting our crew across all disciplines, identifying workflow inefficiencies, and implementing solutions to enhance our game development process. You will collaborate with our artwork, layout, and engineering groups to drive innovation and excellence in our games.

Key Responsibilities

* Collaborate with our artwork, layout, and engineering groups to identify workflow inefficiencies, pain points, and troubles in our development process.

• Work with the team to generate candidate solutions, weigh tradeoffs given the hassle context and development timeline, implement the selected solution, and help the adoption of the solution by the team.
• Assist, develop, and preserve arenaflex's existing set of engine-specific and custom gear used daily.
• Proactively identify inefficiencies and elaborate areas for improvement in our development process across disciplines.
• Preserve, extend, and aid present development gear.
• Build and guide custom asset pipelines.
• Grow arenaflex's proprietary libraries, tools, and technologies across game engines and structures.

Essential Qualifications

* A strong passion for empowering others to do their best work.

• Experience with the overall device lifecycle: identifying issues, comparing capacity answers, implementing tools, and evaluating their effectiveness.
• Enjoy working with custom standalone gear.
• Enjoy growing gear that can be utilized by many game development disciplines.
• Proficiency in C#, C++, Python, JavaScript, and Net Tech.
• Ability to work efficiently in a self-directed environment.

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience with custom game engines.

• Familiarity with Unreal or Unity.
• Knowledge of required utility materials.
• Resume outlining applicable experience.

* Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and address workflow inefficiencies.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to weigh tradeoffs and make informed decisions.

• Experience with custom game engines and game development pipelines.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to preserve and extend existing development gear.
