Job Responsibilities:
As a Full Stack Software Engineer in our Big Data team, you will be responsible for:
Programming Improvement:
+ Developing and testing software, including refactoring code and driving continuous improvement in code structure and quality. + Participating in code reviews and automated testing. + Troubleshooting critical software components and identifying code gaps for remediation. + Enabling the deployment, support, and validation of software across test, integration, and production environments. + Automating solutions in test or production environments. + Scaling applications based on projected demand.
Leadership:
+ Leading a small team of engineers and empowering them to reach their full potential. + Impacting colleagues with innovative changes and enhancements by testing the norm and demonstrating risk-taking.
Collaboration:
+ Participating in agile development methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban. + Collaborating with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deploy software applications. + Contributing to the development of technical and business requirements. + Identifying opportunities to adopt innovative technologies and approaches.
Technical Expertise:
+ Developing and maintaining advanced data pipelines for batch and real-time data processing. + Designing and implementing data warehousing and business intelligence solutions. + Developing and testing software applications using Java, Python, or Scala. + Working with Hadoop, Hive, and Spark to develop and deploy big data solutions. + Developing and maintaining complex SQL queries, including Hive and PySpark dataframes. + Experience with UNIX shell scripting and automation.

Essential Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field. + 3+ years of experience in software development and leading teams of engineers and Scrum teams. + 3+ years of experience working with Hadoop, Hive, and Spark. + Strong data warehousing concepts. + Knowledge of financial detailing environments. + Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field. + Experience with cloud platforms like GCP or AWS, microservices, and containerization.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ 3+ years of experience with Kafka streams or queues. + Experience with GitHub or Bitbucket and CI/CD pipelines. + Experience with NoSQL databases like HBase, Couchbase, or MongoDB. + Strong technical and analytical skills. + Excellent communication and collaboration skills. + Phenomenal project management skills.
