Medical Expert (Remote | $130–$300/hr | Contract)

- Internal Medicine
- Emergency Medicine
- Psychiatry
- Haematology / Oncology
- Radiology
- Cardiology
As a Medical Expert, you'll design realistic clinical scenarios, evaluate model outputs against evidence-based standards, and help shape how the next generation of AI reasons about patient care.
What You'll Do
- Design clinically realistic prompts and scenarios drawn from your speciality (diagnostic reasoning, treatment planning, risk stratification, guideline concordance)
- Write "golden" reference responses at attending-level quality
- Grade AI-generated responses against structured rubrics
- Provide written feedback the research team uses to improve model behavior
- Participate in weekly office hours and specialty calibration sessions
Who You Are
- Attending Physicians: Must be board certified with current, active, unrestricted medical license
- Resident physicians: Must be in final year of residency (recent graduates must be board-eligible)
- Fellows: Must be board-certified/board-eligible in primary specialty and have current active, unrestricted, medical license.
Rates Rates are set per specialty and seniority tier, benchmarked to Mercor. Expect $130–$300/hr payable depending on specialty and level of training. Your specific rate will be confirmed in your offer. Engagement
- Remote, 100% asynchronous
- 20 hrs/wk default (can be raised after onboarding based on demand)
- Paid weekly via Mercor
- Expected start: Monday 4/27/2026
- Duration: ongoing, reviewed monthly

- You will be engaged as an independent contractor.
- This is a fully remote role that can be completed on your own schedule.
- Projects can be extended, shortened, or concluded early depending on needs and performance.
- Your work at Mercor will not involve access to confidential or proprietary information from any employer, client, or institution.
- Payments are weekly on Stripe or Wise based on services rendered.
