Senior Citrix Engineer (Remote)
For a large-scale enterprise IT infrastructure project, we are seeking a highly experienced Senior Citrix Engineer to support the operation, security hardening, and migration of a complex Citrix environment. The primary focus is on the secure operation of Citrix NetScaler (ADC / VP Gateway) and the migration of a large Citrix VDI environment (~1,500 VDIs) from VMware to Nutanix. This role requires a high level of autonomy, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work independently in a complex enterprise environment. Location: Remote (Europe / Eastern Europe) with occasional onsite in Frankfurt am Main Start Date: 15.05.2026 Duration: Approx. 6 months (until 31.10.2026) Workload: 100% (80% possible) Language: German (minimum B2 required)
Key Responsibilities
Operate, administer, and further develop Citrix NetScaler (ADC), especially as VP Gateway Implement security hardening and ensure compliance with current security standards Manage and optimize pooled and persistent VDIs in Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (CVAD) Lead migration of ~1,500 VDIs from VMware to Nutanix (AHV) Improve performance and stability of the VDI infrastructure Perform independent troubleshooting and issue resolution during live operations Document configurations, changes, and implemented measures Required Experience & Skills Several years of hands-on experience with Citrix NetScaler / ADC, especially VP Gateway Strong expertise in IT security and system hardening Proven experience administering Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (CVAD) Experience managing large VDI environments (1,000+ desktops preferred) Strong VMware experience and knowledge of Nutanix (AHV) Independent, structured, and solution-oriented working style German language skills at minimum B2 level
