Overview: This is a hands-on Data Specialist role combining data engineering, data analysis, and some data modeling/architecture. The position will initially be a one-person setup, with potential to expand into a team as the project grows. Core Responsibilities
- Build and manage data pipelines
- Extract and integrate data from external systems
- Work with large datasets (1TB+, millions of rows)
- Optimize SQL queries and stored procedures (currently taking 30 45 mins)
- Implement medallion architecture (raw, staging, serving layers)
- Develop dashboards and reports using Power BI
- Analyze data and independently propose solutions
Mandatory Technical Requirements:
- Strong hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory (pipeline creation, external integrations)
- Strong PostgreSQL experience (SQL, stored procedures, performance tuning)
- Advanced Power BI (complex filters, dynamic dashboards)
- Experience handling large-scale datasets and ETL processes

Skills:
- Data modeling and architecture design
- Experience integrating multiple data sources
- Ability to generate insights from data
- Exposure to columnar databases or tools like Databricks (future scope)
- Industry experience (finance, retail, etc.)
