Business Lead - Site / Civil Engineer, Atlanta

About the position Stantec’s Site / Civil Engineering Land Development group is growing throughout Georgia. We are looking for “seller/doers” responsible for leading the pursuit and delivery of excellent work to our clients throughout the state of Georgia. Stantec’s multi-disciplinary office in Atlanta, GA has an opportunity for a Business Lead to manage our Civil Engineering operations in the Georgia market. We are seeking a candidate with experience in people-leadership, project management, and business development. Market sectors in public and private areas development including streetscapes, parks, and residential, commercial, and industrial development. This position offers a hybrid work schedule which consists of a minimum of three days in the office each week, and up to two days per week working remotely.

Responsibilities

  • Manage significant projects, coordinating with clients and government agencies, and Stantec’s local and regional teams.
  • Lead and implement business development strategies for new clients and strategic pursuits.
  • Maintain and strengthen existing client relationships and play a key role in client management and satisfaction.
  • Mentor and empower junior staff and other team members.
  • Plan and manage projects and tasks to complete them on time and within budget.
  • Oversee team and project metrics to ensure successful project delivery while maintaining profitability.

Requirements

  • Experience with both private and public sector clients and projects.
  • Successful experience in responding to Requests for Qualifications, Requests for Proposals, and Statements of Qualifications.
  • Strong leadership, emotional intelligence, team building and communication skills.
  • Experience managing junior staff, client relationships, and complex projects.
  • Excellent oral, written, and graphic communication skills.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited university.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) licensed in the state of Georgia.
  • 12+ years of progressive engineering and project management experience in relevant civil/site or land development engineering and project management in Georgia is preferred.

  • Established network of relationships in Georgia is a plus.
