STAFF OR SENIOR ACCOUNTANT Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparing and maintaining accurate financial records using QuickBooks, including general ledger entries, reconciliations, and month-end close processes.
  • Process and track transactions related to sales, refunds, and expenses from our Shopify platform, ensuring seamless integration with accounting systems.
  • Reconcile bank statements, credit card accounts, and ecommerce payment gateways to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
  • Support accounts payable and receivable functions, including invoice processing, vendor payments, and customer billing inquiries.
  • Assist in preparing financial reports, such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, for management review.
  • Monitor inventory costs and assist with periodic inventory reconciliations to align with sales and purchasing data.
  • Help prepare budgets and forecasts by compiling data and analyzing trends in ecommerce performance metrics.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable tax regulations, assisting with sales tax filings and other statutory requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Controller and finance team to streamline processes and improve operational efficiency.
  • Perform ad-hoc financial analysis and support audits as needed to maintain transparency and accuracy.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • 1-2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in ecommerce or retail environments.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks and experience with Shopify or similar ecommerce platforms.
  • Strong understanding of basic accounting principles (GAAP knowledge a plus).
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment and meet deadlines.
