Principal Geologist - Extractive Operations
Our client is a leading player in the global mining industry, currently seeking an exceptional Principal Geologist with extensive experience in extractive operations to join our forward-thinking team. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to leverage your expertise from a location of your choice. You will be instrumental in driving geological exploration, resource evaluation, and mine planning activities for our diverse portfolio of projects. This role demands a deep understanding of geological modeling, ore body characterization, and reserve estimation techniques. Your responsibilities will include leading geological teams, mentoring junior geologists, conducting advanced data analysis, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including mining engineers and metallurgists, to optimize resource extraction strategies. A key aspect of this position involves developing and implementing robust geological frameworks that ensure efficient and sustainable mining practices. You will be expected to stay abreast of the latest technological advancements in geological surveying and data processing, and to champion their adoption within the organization. The successful candidate will possess a strong track record of successfully managing complex geological projects from exploration through to production. Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills are paramount, as you will be presenting findings and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders. A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geology or a closely related field is required, with a Ph.D. being a significant advantage. Professional Geologist (PG) certification is highly desirable.
