Java Applications/Production Support Consultant, Remote

Applications/Production Support team members should have hands-on technical support for several mobile and web applications being either the client application and or server backend software.

  • The primary function is to proactively monitor, support and troubleshoot mobile app or web, java/spring boot application(s) regarding its application health and operation with respect to resolving customer trouble tickets, escalation issues or Jira's and supporting production matters.
  • The person should have very good experience with regards to reviewing and analyzing server logs relative to troubleshooting issues, this work will also include working closely with the development team with regards to managing software quality.
  • The person should be experienced in checking the servers logs and or database using both Unix / Linux commands and SQL commands to retrieve information, create alerts and or reports.
  • The person should be familiar with products like Websphere, Java and Cloud (AWS) etc.
  • The individual should also be used to using system monitoring tools such as NewRelic, Logstash/Kibana and Splunk to analyze and manage system health. (If there is Splunk admin experience, it is PLUS).
  • The person should have experience in checking on exceptions or other error handling procedures where past development experience is a plus.
  • The individual should be familiar with the script languages such as Perl, Shell, etc. and SQL.
  • It is a plus if the individual is familiar with Java, J2EE, XML, HTTP, Databases regarding supporting the applications.

In dealing with mobile applications, being familiar with Android or IOS applications is a plus. The individual should also be familiar with MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, and Project) with regards to documenting maintenance plans, reports and or procedures.
