Manager, Actuarial Education & Academic Development This position may be structured as either full-time or part-time contractual role, depending on the selected candidate's availability and experience. This position is based in the United Arab Emirates. Candidates must reside in the UAE or be willing to relocate to the UAE. Your Purpose: The Manager, Actuarial Education & Academic Development reporting to the Regional Director, MEASA, will lead the Society of Actuaries' academic growth initiatives. This role is responsible for strengthening university actuarial programs, guiding institutions through UCAP recognition and VEE alignment, and enhancing faculty capability to deliver high-quality actuarial education aligned with SOA standards. This position serves as a trusted advisor to universities, faculty members, and academic leaders. It is ideal for an academically accomplished actuary who has completed the SOA pathway, understands both the academic and industry environments, and is passionate about developing the next generation of actuarial professionals. What You'll Do: University Engagement & Program Development

  • Advise universities on designing, launching, and strengthening actuarial science programs.
  • Provide hands-on guidance in curriculum development, course sequencing, and syllabus design aligned with the SOA pathway.
  • Support institutions seeking UCAP recognition, including curriculum mapping and application guidance.
  • Assist universities in structuring programs to align with exam requirements and industry employability expectations.

Academic Development & Training

  • Develop and deliver faculty workshops, webinars, and academic development sessions.
  • Conduct short-term training programs for professors, stakeholders, and industry partners.
  • Provide direct feedback on course outlines and program structures to elevate academic quality.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on SOA exams, pathway requirements, and professional expectations

Outreach & Academic Community Building

  • Proactively engage universities.
  • Build relationships with targeted universities to support their progression toward UCAP designation.
  • Organize and participate in academic conferences, regional teaching summits, and faculty forums.
  • Host webinars for students and respond to SOA pathway inquiries from prospective and current candidates

Strategic & Regional Support

  • Monitor regional higher education trends and workforce development needs.
  • Support initiatives that expand and strengthen the actuarial talent pipeline.
  • Collaborate with regional leadership to align academic initiatives with SOA's strategic goals.

What You'll Need:

  • An ASA or FSA credential
  • PhD in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, or a closely related field strongly preferred.
  • Experience teaching in or leading an actuarial science program at a university.
  • Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development, accreditation processes, and academic program structuring.
  • Deep understanding of the SOA credentialing pathway and exam framework.
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills, with the ability to confidently engage faculty and academic leadership.
  • Warm, relationship-oriented communication style and comfort working in academic environments.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple university relationships.

Hours & Travel Commitment:

  • Structure: This position may be structured as either full-time or part-time contractual, depending on the selected candidate's availability and experience.
  • Travel: Approximately 30% regional travel is required for this position,
  • Flexibility: This is a primarily remote work when not traveling.
