Job Posting GENERAL INFORMATION POSITION TITLE Outside Plant Engineer (OSPE II) DEPARTMENT Telecom and Broadband Engineering LOCATION Home Based (North America) REPORTS TO Engineering Manager LAST UPDATED 3/24/2025 JOB DESCRIPTION RAMTeCH Software Solutions is a global GIS consulting, engineering, data management, and software solutions company specializing in the utility and telecommunications industries, and government. RAMTeCH is seeking a second level Outside Plant Engineer in our Telecommunications Engineering division, specialized in Outside Plant Engineering (OSPE), responsible for ensuring compliance and uniformity for several simultaneous projects encompassing the telecommunications industries. The position will support the Assistant Director and Engineering Managers. The incumbent must have the ability to QC/spot check design work, report findings, and provide operational support by assisting Production teams with design related support. Must be familiar with software similar to AutoCAD, ArcGIS, Aramis, 3-GIS, SpatialNet and have excellent computer skills and technical knowledge as it relates to telecommunications design and engineering. Excellent communication skills are required to understand and explain issues to our offshore production team. This is a full-time, home-based position that requires the incumbent to provide a distraction free work environment as well as the capabilities to manage their own daily schedule while performing the following responsibilities. RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the Engineering Managers, particularly with onboarding new projects and overseeing

training calls with our production teams.

  • Perform QC/QA for all deliverables provided by drafting and design teams and provide

feedback.

  • Provide daily support, expertise, and liaise with multiple teams in RAMTeCH on multiple

projects simultaneously.

  • Conduct reviews of client samples and standard documents to provide experience-based

feedback for the level of effort and skills required.

  • Review internal policies, processes, procedures, work instructions, and supporting documents

for content, clarity, uniformity, and simplification.

  • Propose strategies to avoid duplication of work, minimize processing times, and reduce cost.
  • Respond in a timely fashion to all requests for information and data from upstream leaders.
  • Performance of other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Intermediate knowledge and experience with telecommunications outside plant engineering and

construction.

  • Read, understand, and provide training specific to telecommunication network drawings.
  • Proficient in tracking, documentation, and communication utilizing data management software.
  • Strong work ethic with an emphasis on attention to details.
  • Strong computer skills with intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
  • Self-starter with integrity and confidence who strives to achieve in even the most challenging

environments with limited supervision.

  • Team player with well-developed interpersonal skills who is comfortable in a cross-functional, multi-

cultural environment.

  • Excellent organizational, analytical, critical thinking, adaptability, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication, both oral and written, with the ability to clearly explain issues, and develop

resolutions.

  • Knowledge and familiarity with basic telecommunications outside plant planning and permitting

processes.

data entry applications EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • 4+ years of related experience in Telecommunication Outside Plant Engineering industry.
  • Applicable degree or certifications preferred.

  • Must be a team player, comfortable working in a supportive role.
  • Ability to work in a stressful, time sensitive, ever-changing, and high tempo environment.
  • Must have home office configured for productivity and limited interruptions.
  • Extremely reliable high-speed internet and cellular service (or land line).
  • Must be based in North America.
