Description of the Role The Anaplan Model Builder will be responsible for partnering with Business Leads to design, develop, test, and implement robust Anaplan solutions, with a specialized focus on Incentive Compensation Management (ICM) modules. This is a mid-to-senior level role where you will lead Anaplan projects by translating complex, Excel or Word-based sales commission plans into scalable models, ensuring accurate component calculations and intuitive dashboards. You will work closely with our current Lead Model Builder to ensure a smooth knowledge transfer, collaborating effectively to support the North American region and mitigate risks as the team evolves. This is a contractor position with high potential to transition into a permanent hire. Remote MST Hours (Arizona Time) is required Responsibilities of the Role Partner with Business Leads to design, develop, test, and implement specialized Anaplan ICM solutions. Lead Anaplan projects by collaborating with business teams to develop user stories and convert them into achievable agile sprints. Document overall Anaplan builds, architecture diagrams, and system processes. Understand and convert complex Excel or Word-based commission plans into the Anaplan ICM model where component calculations occur and dashboards display information. Perform root cause analyses on system behavior, identify bottlenecks, and propose technical solutions. Train new users on the system, creating enablement materials and documenting processes. Work closely and partner with the current Lead Model Builder and other team members to ensure alignment and complete system support. Drive data integrity and model optimization within the Anaplan environment to ensure proper support for the NA instance.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or an equivalent qualification from an accredited institution is required. 4+ years of relevant work experience or an equivalent combination of education and hands-on experience. At least 3 years of experience in Sales Incentive Compensation Planning, Sales Territory & Quota Planning, or Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A). At least 1-3 years of Anaplan implementation experience OR a minimum of 2 completed Anaplan projects. Anaplan Certification completed (Level 2 or higher). Deep technical comfort and mastery using LOOKUP, SUM, SELECT, COLLECT, Application Lifecycle Management (ALM), and Revision control. A self-starter mindset who demonstrates creativity, has a customer-focused approach, and a strong drive to develop business acumen.

Nice to Have

Advanced Anaplan Certifications (e.g., Certified Model Builder or Master Anaplanner status). Experience with automated data integration tools (e.g., Anaplan Connect, MuleSoft, or Informatica). Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies for sprint delivery.
