Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Photon is seeking an Android Developer responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality mobile applications. The role involves collaborating with product managers, designers, and backend engineers in an Agile environment to build scalable mobile solutions and ensure seamless integration with backend systems.
Responsibilities
- Mobile Application Development: Design, develop, and maintain Android applications ensuring performance, scalability, and responsiveness
- UI Implementation: Build intuitive and user-friendly interfaces while adhering to design standards and best practices
- Testing & QA: Implement and execute UI and functional tests using tools like Espresso, UI Automator, or Jetpack Compose testing frameworks
- Agile Development: Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives, ensuring timely and quality deliverables
- Code Quality & Best Practices: Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code while adhering to coding standards and review processes
- Integration: Ensure seamless integration of mobile applications with backend APIs and services
- CI/CD Support: Contribute to build and deployment pipelines, supporting automation and release processes
Skills
- 3+ years of experience in Android application development
- Strong experience in mobile app development and testing frameworks (Espresso, UI Automator, Jetpack Compose testing)
- Proficiency in Kotlin/Java and Android SDK
- Solid understanding of QA practices, testing strategies, and defect management
- Experience working in an Agile development environment
- Good understanding of REST API integration and mobile architecture patterns
- Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and problem-solving skills
- Understanding of mobile performance optimization and best practices
- Experience with version control systems (Git)
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and cloud technologies
