As our practice continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced Immigration Paralegal Consultant to provide contract support on a variety of immigration matters. Position Summary We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive Immigration Paralegal Consultant to provide contract support for a fast-paced Immigration Law Practice. Strong experience preparing immigration court filings, USCIS applications, and emergency submissions while managing strict deadlines and multiple cases simultaneously. The ideal candidate has demonstrated experience handling removal defense and family-based immigration matters, petitions and humanitarian applications, managing multiple cases simultaneously, and communicating effectively with clients, attorneys, and government agencies. Key Responsibilities: Immigration Court & Emergency Response Filings Prepare and file motions and supporting documentation before the Immigration Court (EOIR), Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA), and related agencies, including:

  • Motions to Reopen
  • Motions to Reconsider
  • Motions to Change Venue
  • Motions to Continue
  • Motions to Terminate
  • Stay of Removal Requests
  • Emergency and expedited filings

Removal Defense & Humanitarian Applications Prepare and support filings for:

  • Form I-589 (Application for Asylum and Withholding of Removal)
  • Cancellation of Removal (42B)
  • Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) Petitions
  • U Visa Applications
  • T Visa Applications
  • Temporary Protected Status (TPS) Applications
  • Other humanitarian forms of immigration relief

USCIS Applications & Family-Based Immigration Prepare and file:

  • Form I-130, Petition for Alien Relative
  • Form I-485, Application to Adjust Status
  • Form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization
  • Form I-131, Application for Travel Document
  • Form I-864, Affidavit of Support
  • Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence
  • Form N-400, Application for Naturalization
  • Family-based petitions and adjustment of status applications
  • Consular processing matters
  • Additional immigration benefits and visa applications

Case Management & Client Support

  • Draft declarations, cover letters, legal correspondence, and supporting evidence packages.
  • Conduct client intake interviews and gather supporting documentation.
  • Maintain organized electronic case files and case management systems.
  • Monitor filing deadlines and ensure timely submissions.
  • Assist attorneys with detained and non-detained emergency response matters.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Minimum 1–3 years of immigration law experience.
  • Demonstrated experience preparing immigration court motions and removal defense filings.
  • Experience preparing USCIS family-based and humanitarian applications.
  • Strong understanding of EOIR, USCIS, and BIA procedures.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities in a remote environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and immigration case management software.

Preferred:

  • Experience handling detained removal defense matters.
  • Experience assisting with federal immigration litigation, including Habeas Corpus petitions and Mandamus actions.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
