Diagnostic Radiologist - Nighthawk (Evening and Night Shift, Remote)
About the Job MedStar Health, the largest healthcare system in the Maryland and Washington, D.C. region, is expanding our Nighthawk Radiology Division and is seeking evening and night-shift Diagnostic Radiologists to support this expansion. - Final interpretations of after-hours CT and ultrasound, with some X-ray and occasional MRI
- 24/7 dedicated PACS support
- 24/7 dedicated call center for critical results reporting
- 7 or 8-hour shifts
- Preliminary reads issued for complex cases or during high-volume periods
- Shared responsibility for handling after-hours questions and calls from technologists and providers
- 9-10 RVUs/hour with incentives for higher productivity
- Abundant internal moonlighting opportunities Schedule Options Compared to other emergency radiology roles, shifts are slightly shorter, typically 8 hours.
- Overnights only
- 17 weeks per year
- 1 week on / 2 weeks off
- 11 p.m. - 7 a.m. (Mon.-Sun.)
- Evenings only
- 23 weeks per year with periodic 3-week breaks
- Weekdays (Mon.-Fri.) 5 p.m.-12 a.m.
- Weekends (Sat.-Sun.) 3-11 p.m.
- Hybrid Evenings/Overnights
- Overnight 12-7 a.m. (Mon.-Fri.), 11 p.m.-7 a.m. (Sat.-Sun.) Practice Environment
- Coverage across multiple hospitals and urgent care centers in Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia
- Includes a Level I Trauma Center
- Supportive, collaborative team culture Qualifications
- Board-certified or board-eligible in Diagnostic Radiology
- Eligible for medical licensure in Maryland, Washington, D.C., and Virginia
- Fellowship training preferred
