Why This Role Matters

In today’s data‑driven world, the ability to translate massive streams of user interaction data into actionable business insights is a competitive advantage. The Product & Consumer Insights team at arenaflex is at the heart of this transformation, shaping product strategy, advertising effectiveness, and user experience across all arenaflex platforms. As a Data Scientist on this team, you will be a pivotal bridge between raw data and strategic decision‑making, helping to unlock value from click‑stream logs, A/B test results, and marketplace analytics.

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled, self‑motivated Machine Learning (ML) Data Specialist to join our Product & Consumer Insights group. This part‑time, remote position offers an 8‑hour workday with a competitive rate of $25 per hour. You will collaborate with product managers, engineers, marketers, and senior leadership to design, develop, and deploy analytical solutions that drive product discovery, improve user engagement, and optimize advertising performance on the arenaflex Store and related services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable ML models that analyze user behavior, product performance, and advertising effectiveness.
  • Transform large‑scale click‑stream and transaction data into clean, structured datasets ready for analysis.
  • Conduct rigorous statistical analyses—including regression, clustering, time‑series forecasting, and causal inference—to uncover trends and opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and visualizations that communicate insights to cross‑functional stakeholders in a clear, compelling manner.
  • Partner with data engineers to ensure data pipelines are reliable, performant, and adhere to best practices in data warehousing (e.g., Snowflake, AWS Redshift).
  • Translate business questions into analytical frameworks, define key metrics, and deliver actionable recommendations.
  • Present findings to product, marketing, and executive teams, influencing roadmap decisions and strategic initiatives.
  • Stay abreast of emerging data science techniques, tools, and industry trends to continuously improve analytical capabilities.

Essential Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field. A master’s or Ph.D. is highly desirable.
  • Experience: Minimum 6 years of professional experience in data science, preferably within the digital advertising or product analytics domain.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Python (pandas, scikit‑learn, TensorFlow/PyTorch) and SQL. Hands‑on experience with AWS services, Snowflake, and data visualization tools such as Tableau or Looker.
  • Statistical Expertise: Strong foundation in hypothesis testing, regression analysis, clustering, and time‑series modeling.
  • Communication: Ability to convey complex analytical results to non‑technical audiences with clarity and impact.
  • Collaboration: Demonstrated success working in fast‑paced, cross‑functional teams, balancing multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with A/B testing frameworks and causal inference methods (e.g., uplift modeling, propensity scoring).
  • Familiarity with big‑data processing tools such as Spark or Hadoop.
  • Background in product recommendation systems, natural language processing, or computer vision as applied to user‑generated content.
  • Prior work in a remote or distributed team environment, showcasing self‑discipline and effective virtual collaboration.
  • Publications or contributions to open‑source data‑science projects.

Core Skills & Competencies

  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to dissect complex problems, identify root causes, and propose data‑driven solutions.
  • Programming Excellence: Clean, maintainable code with version control (Git) and adherence to software engineering best practices.
  • Data Engineering Insight: Understanding of ETL processes, data modeling, and data‑quality assurance.
  • Business Acumen: Insight into how product features, advertising spend, and user experience intersect to drive revenue.
  • Adaptability: Comfort with evolving data sets, shifting priorities, and emerging technologies.
  • Ethical Stewardship: Commitment to data privacy, security, and responsible AI practices.

Career Growth & Learning Opportunities

arenaflex invests heavily in employee development. As a member of the Product & Consumer Insights team, you will have access to:

  • Mentorship from senior data scientists and industry experts.
  • Sponsored certifications in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and advanced analytics (e.g., Certified Data Scientist).
  • Opportunities to present at internal conferences, industry meetups, and academic workshops.
  • Cross‑functional rotation programs that allow you to explore roles in engineering, product management, or advertising strategy.
  • Participation in cutting‑edge research projects that influence the next generation of arenaflex services.

Compensation, Perks & Benefits

While the base hourly rate is $25, arenaflex offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes:

  • Flexible remote work arrangements and a supportive home‑office stipend.
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance plans with employer contributions.
  • Retirement savings options with company matching.

  • Access to a global learning platform, technical libraries, and conference budgets.
  • Employee resource groups that foster inclusion, diversity, and community engagement.
