We are currently seeking a talented and passionate Network Engineer – Data Center to join our growing engineering team in Dallas, Texas. This is a full-time, 8-hour-per-day opportunity offering a competitive rate of $27 per hour, and it represents a unique chance to work on some of the most critical and exciting infrastructure projects underway at arenaflex today. Whether you are an experienced network professional looking to take the next step in your career or a dedicated engineer with a strong foundation in data center operations, this role offers the platform, the resources, and the supportive culture you need to thrive.

About the Role: What You'll Do as a Network Engineer at arenaflex

As a Network Engineer – Data Center at arenaflex, you will become a cornerstone of our technology operations. The Network Engineering team at arenaflex is responsible for designing, building, maintaining, and continuously improving the network infrastructure that powers our entire organization. This is not just a maintenance role — it is a hands-on, forward-looking position where you will have genuine influence over architectural decisions, technology roadmaps, and the daily experience of thousands of internal and external users who depend on our systems.

Working collaboratively with cross-functional teams and senior leaders throughout arenaflex, you will contribute to every phase of the network lifecycle — from initial planning and design to deployment, ongoing operations, troubleshooting, and optimization. You will be expected to bring a mindset of continuous improvement, always looking for ways to make our network faster, more secure, more resilient, and more efficient. Your contributions will directly support arenaflex's broader mission of delivering exceptional experiences through world-class technology.

Key Responsibilities

Your day-to-day responsibilities as a Network Engineer at arenaflex will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Design and Implement Network Solutions: Plan, design, and implement new network solutions and services that align with arenaflex's strategic objectives. Continuously evaluate and improve the efficiency and performance of existing network infrastructure, identifying opportunities to optimize routing, reduce latency, and strengthen overall system reliability.
  • Install, Configure, and Maintain Network Equipment: Install, configure, and uphold a wide range of network hardware including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and other critical data center components. Ensure all equipment is properly documented, up to date, and operating within performance specifications.
  • Procurement and Vendor Management: Source and acquire network hardware and equipment, managing relationships with vendors and overseeing subcontractors involved in network installation projects. Coordinate timelines, review deliverables, and ensure installations meet arenaflex's rigorous quality standards.
  • Routing Configuration and Network Efficiency: Design and configure routing protocols and policies to maximize network efficiency, throughput, and security. Continuously monitor network traffic patterns and make data-driven adjustments to routing to improve performance across the data center environment.
  • Architecture Recommendations and Strategic Planning: Recommend strategic changes and improvements to existing network architectures. Assess current and future hardware and software requirements related to proposed changes, and present well-reasoned business cases to leadership for approval and investment.
  • Technical Mentorship and Team Development: Provide expert technical support and guidance to junior staff members, helping to develop their troubleshooting skills, analytical capabilities, and overall technical competence. Mentor teammates through complex issues and foster a culture of knowledge sharing within the Network Engineering team.
  • Advanced Technical Support and Systems Guidance: Deliver high-level technical guidance and support for the ongoing development, troubleshooting, and enhancement of network systems. Serve as a subject matter expert during incident response, root cause analysis, and post-incident reviews.
  • Documentation and Process Management: Maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation of network configurations, installation records, topology diagrams, and standard operating procedures. Ensure knowledge is captured and accessible to the broader technology organization.
  • Flexible Duties and Collaborative Spirit: Perform other related job duties as directed by management, demonstrating the flexibility and team-oriented mindset that defines the arenaflex culture. Be prepared to step in wherever needed to support the broader goals of the organization.

What We're Looking For: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

To succeed in this role at arenaflex, you will need a combination of technical expertise, analytical thinking, and strong interpersonal abilities. Specifically, we are seeking candidates who demonstrate the following:

  • Problem-Solving and Troubleshooting Excellence: A proven ability to investigate, diagnose, and resolve complex technical issues under pressure. You should be comfortable working through problems methodically, leveraging your technical knowledge and available tools to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
  • Deep Technical Knowledge of Networking Technologies: Strong working knowledge of hardware components, server and network systems, software platforms, and networking technologies including TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, DNS, DHCP, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP), and data center networking concepts. Familiarity with cloud networking and hybrid architectures is a strong plus.
  • Mentorship and Coaching Capability: The ability and desire to mentor and guide colleagues in performing troubleshooting, root cause analysis, solution optimization, and performance improvement within specific technology domains. Experience leading technical reviews or knowledge-sharing sessions is highly valued.
  • Outstanding Communication Skills: Skilled in interacting, negotiating, and communicating effectively with both business stakeholders and technical support teams. You must be able to translate technical concepts into clear, accessible language for non-technical audiences, and advocate persuasively for technical solutions with executive leadership.
  • Exceptional Time Management and Prioritization: The ability to prioritize tasks effectively and manage multiple concurrent projects — whether administrative, operational, or project-based — while maintaining a consistently high standard of quality and completion in all work, including deliverables produced by supervised team members.
  • Strategic Communication and Presentation: Ability to develop, prepare, and effectively present complex ideas, technical strategies, and architectural proposals to diverse audiences ranging from individual contributors to senior executives. You should be comfortable facilitating technical discussions and leading design review sessions.
  • Adaptability in a Fast-Paced Environment: The ability to perform effectively in a dynamic, fast-moving, team-based, and client-service-oriented environment with a strong emphasis on hospitality, professionalism, and positive collaboration. You bring energy and a positive attitude to the workplace, even during demanding periods.
  • Network Traffic Analysis and Issue Resolution: Skilled in investigating, analyzing, and resolving network traffic patterns, performance bottlenecks, connectivity issues, and security concerns using tools such as packet analyzers, network monitoring platforms, and performance diagnostic utilities.
