About arenaflex – Pioneering Secure Retail Experiences

arenaflex is a global leader in retail and e‑commerce, serving millions of customers across multiple continents. Our mission is to blend cutting‑edge technology with a seamless shopping experience, ensuring that every transaction is safe, reliable, and delightful. As cyber threats evolve, arenaflex invests heavily in a world‑class security program that protects our data, our brand, and the trust our customers place in us every day. We are looking for a highly skilled Principal Cybersecurity Incident Responder who will join our remote team and help us stay one step ahead of attackers while delivering exceptional data‑entry support across the organization.

Why This Role Matters

In today’s hyper‑connected retail environment, a single security incident can impact operations, brand reputation, and customer confidence. As the senior incident responder, you will be the first line of defense when threats are detected, guiding the organization through detection, containment, eradication, and recovery. Your expertise will shape arenaflex’s incident response (IR) strategy, influence security tooling decisions, and mentor junior analysts across the globe. This is a unique blend of technical depth, leadership, and strategic influence—perfect for a professional who thrives in high‑stakes, fast‑moving environments.

Key Responsibilities

End‑to‑End Incident Management

  • Lead the full lifecycle of security incidents—from initial detection and evidence collection to impact analysis, containment, eradication, and post‑incident reporting.
  • Coordinate with the Global IT Operations team to implement remediation actions across on‑premise, cloud, and hybrid environments.
  • Develop and maintain detailed incident timelines, forensic artifacts, and executive briefings for senior leadership.

Strategic IR Program Development

  • Design, refine, and continuously improve arenaflex’s incident response playbooks, ensuring they align with emerging threat vectors and regulatory requirements.
  • Drive the integration of new detection technologies (e.g., EDR, XDR, SIEM) into the IR workflow, enhancing visibility and response speed.
  • Collaborate with the Threat Intelligence team to incorporate actionable intel into proactive defense measures.

Forensic Analysis & Malware Reverse Engineering

  • Perform deep forensic examinations of compromised endpoints, servers, mobile devices, and cloud workloads using industry‑leading tools such as EnCase, FTK, and open‑source frameworks.
  • Analyze malicious code, identify Indicators of Compromise (IOCs), and develop detection signatures for future prevention.
  • Document findings in clear, concise reports that translate technical details into business‑focused recommendations.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Communication

  • Partner with SOC analysts, vulnerability management engineers, and network architects to orchestrate coordinated response actions.
  • Facilitate tabletop exercises and simulated attack scenarios to test and improve arenaflex’s readiness.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for external incident response partners, forensic consultants, and law‑enforcement agencies when required.

Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure incident handling processes meet compliance standards such as SOX, PCI‑DSS, GDPR, and other relevant regulations.
  • Maintain audit‑ready documentation and support internal and external audit activities.
  • Advise senior leadership on risk exposure and recommend strategic security investments.

Essential Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 + years of hands‑on incident response, malware analysis, and digital forensics in a complex, multi‑regional environment.
  • Technical Expertise: Proven ability to conduct forensic investigations on Windows, Linux, macOS, mobile (iOS/Android), and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Tool Proficiency: Deep familiarity with forensic suites (EnCase, FTK), EDR solutions (CrowdStrike, Carbon Black), SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar, Elastic), and network traffic analysis tools (Wireshark, Zeek).
  • Malware Skills: Demonstrated experience in malware identification, reverse engineering, and development of detection signatures.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of SOX, PCI‑DSS, GDPR, and other compliance frameworks as they relate to incident handling.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of translating complex technical concepts for both technical and non‑technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications & Certifications

  • Four‑year degree or equivalent experience in Cybersecurity, Digital Forensics, or Information Assurance.
  • Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, GREM, GCFA, or similar.
  • Experience leading cross‑functional IR teams in a retail or e‑commerce setting.
  • Hands‑on experience with cloud security incident response (AWS GuardDuty, Azure Sentinel, etc.).
  • Familiarity with scripting languages (Python, PowerShell) for automation of investigative tasks.

Core Skills & Competencies

  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to dissect complex security events, identify root causes, and propose actionable remediation.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous documentation and evidence handling to ensure forensic integrity.
  • Leadership: Proven capability to guide incident response teams, mentor junior analysts, and influence senior stakeholders.
  • Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills for working with SOC, engineering, legal, and compliance teams.
  • Adaptability: Comfortable juggling multiple high‑priority incidents and shifting priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Continuous Learning: Commitment to staying current with emerging threats, attack techniques, and security technologies.

Career Growth & Learning Opportunities

arenaflex invests heavily in the professional development of its security talent. As a Principal Cybersecurity Incident Responder, you will have access to:

  • Annual security training budgets for certifications, conferences (e.g., Black Hat, RSA, Defcon), and specialized workshops.
  • Mentorship programs pairing you with senior security architects and C‑level leaders.
  • Opportunities to lead cross‑regional IR initiatives, shaping global security policy.
  • Pathways to senior leadership roles such as Director of Security Operations, Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), or Security Strategy Advisor.
  • Access to a state‑of‑the‑art cyber range for hands‑on practice and tabletop simulations.

Compensation, Perks & Benefits

arenaflex offers a competitive compensation package that reflects the expertise required for this role. While the base rate is $27 per hour, total earnings can be significantly enhanced through performance bonuses, overtime eligibility, and annual salary reviews.

  • Health & Wellness: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision plans, plus mental‑health resources and wellness stipends.
  • Retirement Savings: 401(k) plan with company match up to 5% of salary.
  • Flexible Work Arrangements: Fully remote position with flexible scheduling to support work‑life balance.
  • Paid Time Off: Generous vacation, sick leave, and paid holidays.
  • Technology Stipend: Home office equipment allowance and high‑speed internet reimbursement.
  • Learning & Development: Access to online training platforms, certification reimbursement, and internal knowledge‑sharing sessions.
