Key Responsibilities

As a Staff Engineer at arenaflex, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our IT Security division, which carries broad responsibilities for delivering data security, practice management and assurance, and information loss prevention throughout the arenaflex enterprise. Your daily contributions will safeguard our organization’s digital infrastructure and ensure the integrity of critical systems. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead End-to-End Security Projects: Take ownership of full lifecycle engineering projects, from conception to delivery, ensuring they are completed independently and meet all security and operational standards.
  • System Security Design and Implementation: Design robust security solutions, implement business-critical functionality, and lead engineering teams in developing secure, scalable systems.
  • Technical Leadership: Serve as the technical lead for the engineering team, overseeing the testing and evaluation of new security applications, tools, and processes to identify threats and ensure compatibility with existing standards and controls.
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for assigned security tools, including Firewalls, Network Access Control (NAC), and Cloud Security platforms.
  • Threat Analysis and Forensics: Demonstrate proven expertise in malware analysis, file analysis, reverse engineering, and both static and dynamic analysis techniques.
  • Network Communication Troubleshooting: Utilize strong TCP/IP knowledge to troubleshoot network communication issues, with a deep understanding of protocols such as SMTP, IMAP, HTTP, and other web-based protocols.
  • Infrastructure Automation: Leverage tools such as Ansible, Terraform, and similar automation frameworks to streamline security operations and infrastructure management.
  • API Security and Compliance: Apply knowledge of API-based security and compliance standards, ensuring all integrations and data exchanges meet regulatory requirements.
  • Cross-Platform Proficiency: Work across Unix/Linux and Windows operating systems, including scripting and automation tasks.
  • Data Entry and Record Management: Accurately input, update, and maintain critical security and operational data within arenaflex’s proprietary systems, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with architects, security consultants, business programs, and cross-functional teams to align and enhance our security posture across applications, infrastructure, and cloud modernization initiatives.

Essential Qualifications

  • Educational Background: A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Industry Experience: Proven experience in IT security, system engineering, or a closely related discipline, with demonstrated ability to lead engineering teams and deliver complex projects.
  • Security Tool Mastery: Hands-on expertise with enterprise security tools, including Firewalls, NAC solutions, and Cloud Security platforms.
  • Analytical Expertise: Strong background in malware analysis, file analysis, reverse engineering, and both static and dynamic analysis methodologies.
